Against advice and trends of firms supporting later stage startups - we placed a big bet that early stage startups need a hiring and people partner across the full team ecosystem. It was the hard path - building candidate communities across functions vs. specializing in just one role, but I'm feeling proud of this list and how we've not only made a diverse set of function placements, but also truly supported foundational team building across dynamic early stage startups. A few insights that confirmed our bet and kept us on this path: 💥 Great early hires always come down to soft skills 🔍 Identifying which soft skills to focus on takes a bit of intentional brainstorming 👯 There is more similarity between the first engineer and first sales person at a specific company than differences 🤔 Founders (esp. solo founders) don't often get to have a sounding board for org planning, and we were able to fill that role organically #MyFave #TeamBuilding #FounderLife #MyJourney #Learnings #Startups #Hiring
