This Thursday, we had an engaging discussion about who shoulders the responsibility for ensuring a smooth digital transformation within public sector organizations. During the panel discussion at "E-State: The Progress of Lithuania's Digitalisation" conference, hosted by Verslo žinios and NRD Companies, I had the pleasure of exchanging thoughts with Edita Janušienė, Adrijus Jusas, Dalius Misiunas, and our discussion's moderator Rima Valentukeviciene on this pertinent topic. Here are some key takeaways from me: 1. The Crucial Role of Strong Leadership: Whether it's the institution's head or a dedicated member of the management team, having a leader dedicated to digital transformation is pivotal. As owners of these processes, they drive initiatives, foster project synergy, and make critical decisions. 2. Essential Team Alignment: It's not solely about leadership. The entire team must believe in and support the proposed changes. Clear communication regarding the reasons behind these changes and outlining specific benefits for each team member is vital for achieving success. 3. The Value of External Collaboration: Partnering with external entities holds significant value, especially when an institution isn't just following trends but genuinely aims to improve. External partners aren't solely there to deliver digital solutions; they can effectively assist in managing profound institutional changes. For successful collaboration, mutual trust and co-creation, blending best practices with institutional specifics, are imperative. It is held online on June 5th. They also have a short white paper of some research results from the perspective of business ecosystem managers that you can download (if you opt in for some messaging, if your company is in the German business area).
