Our shared objectives are to bolster the school to work pipeline in the United States by ensuring that young men of color who participate in this initiative realize their full leadership potential - as successful college graduates who are prepared to enter the workforce, and to be engaged in their communities. Greetings from BMC '97. Your Jewish alumni, parents of Jewish students, Jewish faculty, and staff have been through a year of incredible trauma at Bryn Mawr and Haverford, as a result of decisions, actions and complicit inactions by school administrators as a result of a hostile antisemitic environment on both campuses, in response to the Hamas terrorist attacks of October 7. While this recent lawsuit filed by the Deborah Project is against Haverford, Bryn Mawr's complicity is also implicated - allowing an "encampment" and permitting Haverford students who had committed antisemitic acts of violence to come to Bryn Mawr and terrorize the women there. Recently, the BiCo News published an article by a visiting professor, which advocated for armed "revolution" against Israel (i.e., Jews), which contradicts every tenant of Bryn Mawr's Quaker tradition of nonviolence. Yet, when alumni posted a comment in response, her comment was deleted by BiCo editorial staff (twice). These aggressions, overt and micro, are but some recent examples of ongoing an unaddressed trauma and harm, for which there has been no acknowledgement, much less remediation and accountability. As far as I know, you are not a BMC graduate, so while your sentiments here about BMC's history and culture are nice, I was educated there, and have very memories of Bryn Mawr, so much so that I have contributed to the institution in innumerable ways since graduation. Memories that are now tarnished by the betrayal of watching an institution I loved turn on me like a snake, and betray every ideal it espoused in the process - logic, reason, tolerance and respect. Other alumni feel the same. So forgive me if your breezy post about Bryn Mawr's storied past and ice cream socials don't quite land. We look forward to engaging with you on these issues.

The Role of Eton's Legacy in Resolving Royal Feuds At Eton College, where the ethos of brotherhood and lifelong bonds are instilled from the very beginning, the ongoing feud between two royal alumni starkly contrasts with the values taught within these historic walls. Eton has always been more than a school; it is a cradle of leadership and camaraderie, preparing its students to uphold a legacy of unity and mutual respect, traits expected of its distinguished graduates. The reason generations of families have entrusted Eton with the education of their sons is not solely for academic rigor but for the deeper lessons in integrity and unity. The school's foundational principles, encapsulated in the "old school tie," emphasize solidarity and discretion, urging its community to support each other unconditionally and to live up to the examples set by the great men who came before them. As two of Eton’s most notable alumni find themselves at odds, it is crucial to remember the speeches and teachings that marked their formative years. These teachings encourage resolution and understanding, not conflict. It falls upon their fellow Etonians, who share the same formative education and values, to remind them of their common ground and shared responsibilities. In times of discord, the true strength of the Etonian bond must come to the forefront. The community is uniquely positioned to mediate, guided by the very principles imparted to them at school. For if there is any group that can bridge this divide, it is those who were schooled in the same traditions and are bound by the same lifelong codes. The spirit of Eton calls for unity and reconciliation. It is imperative for all involved to reflect on the heritage that shaped them and to act in a manner that upholds the honor and history of their esteemed alma mater. Friends, we are in the home stretch of this campaign and I need your help to get to the finish line. This election has shown what we already know well: College Park is a special place. We love and are proud of College Park. So proud in fact, we claim it no matter who’s around. One of my colleagues in another Georgia city said recently, "Any mayor that doesn't believe their city is the best city in the world, shouldn't be mayor." I can't agree more. We are committed to this city. We know it’s not perfect, but we keep working everyday to make it even better. College Park deserves the best leadership - leaders who are genuinely dedicated to the well-being of the city, rather than those seeking power for personal gain and without doing the homework it takes to prepare for this role. If given the honor to serve as mayor for four more years, we will continue providing more access to quality housing and ensure our employees are compensated fully and fairly. We will work to provide our retirees yearly cost of living increases. We will invest in our youth through mentoring programs and even more pathways to great careers. Together, we will increase investments in safety and security. And I will maintain good government practices through transparency, communication, and expanded engagement opportunities. We must see past the theatrics, fear-mongering, empty promises, and unsupported plans and commit to the facts.
