Yamaha Motor's work to further develop the TY-E electric trials bike this season by competing in the All Japan Trial Championship is already showing tangible results. At Round 5 in Hokkaido, an updated 2.2 version of the bike was entered featuring several refinements, including an even lighter and stronger monocoque frame with optimized rigidity and heat management characteristics, a newly designed motor with higher power density, and a smaller, more efficient, and higher-performing motor controller unit (MCU). In the hands of Kenichi Kuroyama, who does double duty as a rider for the Yamaha Factory Racing Team and as the bike's main development rider, the TY-E 2.2 got off to a solid start by finishing on the podium with 3rd overall.
