What's the most important thing in the fire engineering industry? Competency. But what happens when someone with no qualifications or formal education in fire engineering is announced as a Senior Fire Consultant with a firm? It's a question that should be asked. A recent post of this type announced that a person with just over two years' experience is now their senior fire consultant. While some may argue that experience is enough, others may question the level of competency that can be reached in such a short time without formal education or training. What do you think?
