The Department of Human Services was and is still the largest department in the state. By far the largest budget with the with. Hundreds of responsibilities and, and having that kind of responsibility sort of baked into the other department and the rest of the department and the attention that it deserved needed to be separated from all the other issues because it was so vast, so important. It was so much dysfunction, so much tragedy. If you didn't separate it, then you couldn't really have as much the necessary accountability and one singular leader. Commissioner in charge of that department and so that I think that made all the difference in the world in some ways, that he had one person, one department with its own budget and now of course the spotlight on them to do the right thing. It taking them out of the greater department made a big difference.
