America is eager to trigger initiatives designed to preserve its provincial worldview as witnessed by the rapidity wherein DEI programs nationwide are annihilated without replacements to retard its tendency to do the untenable. It prospers by promoting objectivity --principled yet perverse-- because of its thrust, exploiting values it neither holds nor hallows despite its heralds. Attitudes once incredible, unconscionable and inconceivable pervade and prevent the practice of real democracy. Politics perverts instead to the delight of a pernicious plebiscite. Thereby they mute the moral and accelerate America's downward spiral despite its choral of dissenters. Meanwhile we continue to tout the justness of our nation indifferent to a time of reckoning, which reveals daily. Today, on the 4th of July, we reflect on the significance of Independence Day for America. It stands as a symbol of liberty, justice, and freedom, echoing the values enshrined in the American Declaration of Independence. This day holds profound meaning in the context of decolonization from the colonial British tyranny, marking a pivotal moment in history that shaped the course of nations around the world. #BostonTeaParty #SonsOfLiberty Their simple intolerable acts of "throwing the tea into Boston Harbor" demanding "no taxation without representation" ushered a new era in this new world. Beyond that, I believe the Independence Day of America prompts us to contemplate the essence of scientific temperament, reason, and working on bias of all forms. During the past one decade stay (11+ yrs now) in this country as an immigrant, I found majority of these ideals are still alive and working well most of the time. Those values I have learned over time helped me as well to evolve as an individual and as a professional. There are moments of exceptions and deviations. That is a normal discourse of human society and civilizations. That's why, the occasion of the 4th of July serves as a reminder of the principles that underpin a free society, advocating for critical thinking, equality, and the pursuit of truth. America has massive competitive advantages over other countries as a place to do business. Among them are a stable and predictable rule of law; a pluralistic society; a culture of risk-taking, individualism, and optimism; a belief that everyone has rights that must be protected, that government has an important -- but limited -- role, an idealism that, together, we will build on the advances of the past to create an ever-more free, open, accepting, fair, and perfect union. This July 4th, all of it is at risk. It doesn't have to be that way. The future belongs to those who build it, not to the cynics or the critics or those who say "what does it matter what I do?"
