College Achieve Central High School is doing amazing things. It is a joy to teach there. If you want to teach at a school where the students love to learn and the faculty is on a mission, you should apply. Our misson? Every student that graduates from College Achieve Public Schools (CAPS) will be prepared to excel in and graduate from the top colleges and universities in the nation. How are we doing? Consider this, every student in the class of 2022 took three Advanced Placement (AP) courses and 24% passed one or more. It is mandatory to take three APs in order to graduate. That same year, the percentage of students that passed one more APs in New Jersey was 19.9%. NJ claims to have the #1 public school system in the nation. Last May, College Achieve Central's Class of 2023 took an average of more than 5 AP classes (2 more than required), and 48% of seniors passed one or more AP Classes. They doubled the previous year and more than doubled the passage rates of the state of New Jersey (48% to 19.9%). This year, the class of 2024 is taking an average of 6 AP courses - double the the graduation requirement. They are determined to be college graduates. Here is the breakdown ... - nearly 100% of our students are taking 4 AP classes or more - 78% are taking 5 or more courses - 56% are taking 6 or more courses As juniors, 53% of the Class of 2024 have already passed one or more AP exams. We are predicting more than 70% of our seniors will pass one or more AP exams this spring. Our graduates have been accepted to Harvard, Princeton, NYU, Rutgers, NJIT, Smith, and Howard. If you are new to teaching don't worry, we have a world class teacher training program, and our principal, Mrs. Brown, and her team are amazing at supporting and coaching up teachers. We are not a magnet school. Over 90% of our students are from Plainfield, NJ, and we are getting magnet like results. If you want to be part of something important and special, we welcome you to our ranks.
Join us for the virtual and in-person CAPS Job Fair-Plainfield and North Plainfield campuses on Thursday, December 7th from 4:30pm and 6:30pm. In-person interviews will take place at 107 Westervelt Avenue. On-the-spot offers will be possible for ‘23-24 and ‘24-25 positions! Please sign up here- https://lnkd.in/gX_kAWVP.

#risingseniors and #classof2025parents, pay attention. I have a rising senior. The university job fairs will start at the BEGINNING of the school year. My son also just informed me that employers will be at his university doing on-site interviews early in the semester. Here's what I've learned: The college career centers are overworked and underfunded. Their hearts are in the right place but can only do so much. Your resume needs to be on point and stand out from 100s of other upcoming graduate applicants. Consider interview preparation. I want you to rise head and shoulders above the competition. How? It comes from knowing yourself and your value. Are you ready? School is starting here in AZ in just two weeks.

After seeing this graphic, the two words that come to mind are Preparation and Adaptation. How can we better prepare our college students as they enter the workforce? Job Fairs are just one part of the process, but colleges and universities provide the tools for those students to be successful. And what about our interview processes? Should we adapt some of our antiquated methods? (It's time for a change.) Gen Z is here, and they're not going anywhere. Companies and recent graduates must figure out how to co-exist effectively. At the end of the day, none of those survey results indicated that the applicant couldn't do the job. Source: https://lnkd.in/e9QBBnjG

🚨 Attention Business owners looking for skilled labourers 🚨 The shortage of skilled labourers in the trades industries is a growing concern. 🛠️ As more young people choose to pursue college degrees, there has been a decline in the number of individuals entering the trades - This has led to a significant gap between the demand for skilled workers and the available supply. 📉 As a result, industries such as construction, plumbing, electrical work, carpentry & many of the trades are struggling to find enough skilled laborers to meet their needs. This shortage can lead to delays in projects, increased costs, and a strain on the overall economy. 🚧 This event is a great opportunity for business owners to find good employees to bridge that gap!
Book a booth and meet your next star employee at the CANS Industry Job Fair on February 8 at the Halifax Forum! Free-for-all hiring fairs don’t work. Toronto Pearson Airport recently held a job fair where they had to turn away dozens of applicants at the door, many who had waited in line for hours, cancelled other plans, and even travelled to get there—so much for candidate experience! “Come earlier next time” Doesn’t cut it. These are real people with real responsibilities (jobs, kids, school, etc.) and can’t afford to spend entire days waiting in line to get into a job fair. It’s no better for hiring managers, either. One even stated that they don’t know how they can go through “all these resumes” while flipping through stacks of hundreds. They also have no idea who the candidates are beforehand. To put it simply, no one is set up for success. This isn’t new, and it sure isn’t right. In Toronto alone I can think of a dozen similar headlines in the last 6 months—I’ll share some links in the comments. Withe is built to solve these problems. Candidates can review the roles and requirements beforehand, schedule time-slots so they know exactly when to arrive, plus, there’s no manual entry of paper resumes and scribbled down notes for hiring managers—it all gets uploaded to your ATS automatically. If anyone at the Greater Toronto Airports Authority wants to do this more effectively next time—and save the negative press—we should chat :) #candidateexperience #hiringfair #seasonaljobs #volumehiring
