What is the choice of governing law in an international contract? Choosing which country's laws apply to multinational company contracts can get tricky. If you want to mix laws from different places, it's not just a legal puzzle but also a logistical headache. Say you've got a contract mixing Ghanaian and Serbian laws. Now, courts have to figure out how to make those two legal systems play nice together. It's not just a matter of applying basic conflict of laws stuff; it can be a real headache and expensive too, often needing lawyers who really know their stuff. To make life easier, think about picking laws from a chill third-party country that both sides can agree on. Singaporean, Swiss, or English law are popular picks for this. Another idea is going for arbitration—it keeps things private, gives you more flexibility, and lets you choose arbitrators who know their stuff in the legal systems you're dealing with.
