The time it takes to form a habit can vary widely depending on the complexity of the habit, the person, and the circumstances. A popular belief, often cited from Dr. Maxwell Maltz's work in the 1960s, suggests that it takes a minimum of about 21 days to form a habit. However, more recent research suggests that on average, it takes more than two months before a new behavior becomes automatic — 66 days to be exact, according to a study published in the European Journal of Social Psychology. Yet, the study also found that the actual range can vary from 18 to 254 days depending on the habit being formed, the person, and the conditions under which the person is operating. This indicates that the process of habit formation is highly individual and can significantly differ from one person to another. #newhabits #rewireyourbrain

How Aftermarket parts and service employees remain motivated by one of the largest truck dealers in the US Rush Industries is a highly profitable public company encompassing multi-OEM truck dealerships. To achieve its high level of financial and customer service performance, leadership has assured that the ‘troops’ remain highly motivated by sponsoring an annual competition that provides prizes which are financial material to the participants. In the big picture for the enterprise, it is ‘chump change’, but gets a BIG bang for the $$$. Note that Rush Enterprises is not the only firm that engages in such competitions, but these endeavors remain in the minority. Lesson Learned: Sometime ‘simple’ initiatives to attract and retain employees engaged in Aftermarket activities can be highly effective. #aftermarket #dealership #truckingindustry

It's impressive the difference one person can make. Ted joined Scotties team in 2021 for the RSM Classic and since then, there has been a 17%-win rate with a 64% Top 10 rate, which in comparison to previous %'s without Ted, is a 3-5x. Ted has FOUR masters wins as a caddie. The same can happen the other way around though, one person can drive everything down. This applies to more than just golf. Evaluate the people around you. Having the RIGHT people that align with your values can change everything.
