Building the Defense Innovation Base! Developing master innovators takes time and discipline. Cleo and Johnny have both made the commitment and are passing on their lessons to others! Cleo built out the #Gemini program for innovators at the ROTC Jr. level. She is developing mastery with project-based learning and innovation ecosystems to empower problem solving. Cleo is dedicated and driven. She loves a challenge! Say it can't be done, and watch her make miracles happen! Johnny is a powerful story-teller, narrative wizard, and leadership guru following the model laid out by Bob Quinn in the #FundamentalStateOfLeadership. His mastery of the Competing Values Framework for understanding organizational effectiveness is second to none!

What is the #EisenhowerMatrix? The Eisenhower Matrix, also referred to as Urgent-Important Matrix, helps you decide on and prioritize tasks by urgency and importance, sorting out less urgent and important tasks which you should either delegate or not do at all. Dwight D. Eisenhower was the 34th President of the United States from 1953 until 1961. Before becoming President, he served as a general in the United States Army and as the Allied Forces Supreme Commander during World War II. He also later became NATO’s first supreme commander. Dwight had to make tough decisions continuously about which of the many tasks he should focus on each day. As veterans continue to face challenges, a debate has arisen over whether the US Army and military leadership have done them wrong by naming Ft. Hood after General Cavazos instead of Roy Benavidez, the real-life Rambo who earned the honor. While Cavazos was a great general and symbolized Hispanic representation in the Army, Benavidez is the true embodiment of Army values. Despite being hispanic Benavidez overcame everything at a time it was unheard of, to be a Hispanic MSG in the US Army Special Forces, and earn the Medal of Honor What do you think? A special salute to Lieutenant Colonel Don Weyler, US Army (Ret.) for authoring the critically important section of our new book, Win The Job & Thrive In A Multigenerational Workplace, focused on helping military Veterans make a successful transition to the civilian sector. Having grown up at the United States Military Academy at West Point with my dad, Colonel Harold Beal, and having attended the United States Military Academy Preparatory School at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey, the #military has always been a passion in my family. My brother and sister were Colonels who served during a time of combat in Iraq. With that, me and my co-authors, Frank Kovacs, CRISC CDPSE and Kadeer A. Porter, M.S., are honored that Lieutentant Colonel Don Weyler authored this valuable section of the book. Below is an excerpt. https://lnkd.in/eD2B_Fpw As this is the military to civilian transition portion of this book, let me tell my transition story in the “war story” language my military family can relate to best: “So there I was...” concluding a 22-year career in the Army. I had the great honor and pleasure to start my career as a logistics officer, right out of college. I had opportunities to lead organizations, support operations and plan and execute process improvements to provide the best possible support to our service members in combat, peace keeping operations and here in the U.S. During that career, I learned that the military is a great #leadership laboratory and provides service members with a career map of various options to advance careers and provide maximum value to their respective service. As I began the transition to a civilian career, I realized that unlike the military, there is not one cohesive map. There is not a clear direction. The transition can be daunting. In fact, it could be your next “War story”, but it doesn’t have to be.

Armed Forces Veterans' Day is a special occasion celebrated on January 14th to honor the service rendered by the First Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Field Marshal KM Cariappa. As we recognize their service, we are reminded of the military virtues of honor, courage, and self-sacrifice that inspire soldiers and civilians alike.
