A brilliant industry initiative. With constant changes in world events, regulation and taxation, coupled with changes in one’s own life - having a financial adviser to help create and adapt your financial plan is becoming more and more crucial.

"Get good GCSEs and you can take the A levels you want to. Get good A Levels and you can get a good job or you can go to the University of your choice. And a good degree will enable you to land your dream job..." For young people there is a clearly defined academic track for them to run on, laid out in a linear fashion. "Do this, and you get to do that." But finding a career that they'll love is understandably difficult. With the exception of a limited number of careers, it suddenly becomes unstructured and messy. This is further compounded by lots of choice. Young, talented individuals could be amazing at lots of things. How are they supposed to know what will suit them best? Well my advice whenever you are faced with something difficult, is to ask lots of questions and seek out answers. Only by understanding more about something will you be able to make an informed decision. For too many years our profession has lacked a central hub to help young people find out more about becoming a financial adviser. Why become one?; What does the role involve; What qualifications do I need? How can I start? As of last Friday, we now have a central resource to point young people at. So please promote this to all those talented young people you know. There is a war on talent and our profession deserves the brightest and the best. Being a financial adviser is probably 'the best job they've never heard of' and we all now have the mechanism by which to change that.
