What an enjoyable, inspiring and thought provoking conversation tonight. Thanks to all our Mid Life Thriving community members and our visitors for getting involved and of course Nanci Hogan, ACC FRSA for sharing her experience, stories and leading the conversation about creating our legacy. Having explored - what a legacy looks like and how they are unique to each of us. - how we all leave a legacy of some sort, it's up to us whether its an intentional one. - whether we can really decide on our legacy, or whether that is up to others to assess. - how a legacy definitely doesn't have to be about money. We all have resources - our skills, knowledge, network, time. - a legacy doesn't have to be large. - that some of the people who have left the greatest legacies, never set out to create them. And much more ... One conclusion we came to was that what we can do is be intentional about giving back in some way with commitment, clarity and focus. What do you think?

This could not be more true. Being in Sales and having multiple mentors and guides, one of the most important if not THE most important thing I’ve learned is to be human. Sure we have quotas and goals and bills to pay but no sales strategy or skill is going to work if you can’t be human and relatable and personable when speaking with clients and prospects. We all have things going on and being able to take the pressure off of someone interested in you and what you have to offer by just listening and being understanding of their needs and wants is the ultimate blueprint in my opinion to not only closing more deals, but having a solid and trustworthy relationship with your clients after the sale. While every person you speak to is a potential opportunity, it’s easy to forget that they are also human and there’s a relationship and conversation to be made and nurture and it starts with you.
Business is human. It's about humanity and people. It's about building a community and getting people to know you.

When we show up to bring humanity to work, we’re making a choice. It involves risk and effort and emotional labor. We’re here to make a change happen, and we’re giving something to make that happen. So it’s a vote. A vote for the customer we seek to serve. A vote for the boss and the owners of the institution where we do our work. A vote for our co-workers. If they haven’t earned it, if we can’t trust them, support them and root for them, we should do it somewhere else. Don’t volunteer to work for a partner who won’t work for you. Our best work is scarce. We shouldn’t waste it on jerks, selfish hustlers or those that don’t appreciate it. ~ Significant work is a vote by Seth Godin

Visionary Real Estate Developer | Transforming Communities | Champion of Environmental Stewardship and Innovative Leadership
In the insightful words of William Graham Sumner, the concept of "The Forgotten Man" was introduced to spotlight the unsung heroes of our society. These hardworking individuals, often overshadowed by the grandeur of societal reforms, bear the silent burden of progress with grace and diligence. They are the backbone of our communities, embodying the virtues of responsibility, hard work, and self-reliance. Fast forward to today, and it's heartening to see how the once "forgotten" are now stepping into the light, gaining the recognition they so rightly deserve. This shift is a testament to the enduring spirit of goodness and integrity that flows through the veins of our society. It's a reminder that values such as putting your head down and working hard are not relics of the past but are vibrantly alive within the silent majority. In recent times, we've witnessed these individuals, typically staying out of the political fray, rise together in peaceful solidarity. Like the farmers across the world, who've stood united for their rights and livelihoods, this movement underscores the power of collective, peaceful action. It highlights how the "forgotten" in our society are not just passive bystanders but active participants in shaping a more equitable world. As we navigate the complexities of the modern world, let's take a moment to honor and celebrate these pillars of our communities. Their unwavering dedication serves as a beacon of hope and a powerful example for the rising generations. It's time we recognize and uplift the essence of the "forgotten man" - not as a figure of the past, but as a guiding light for the future. Let their dedication inspire us all to embrace the virtues of hard work, responsibility, and compassion. By doing so, we can ensure that these fundamental values continue to thrive, shaping a society that honors and celebrates the contributions of every individual, including those who rise together peacefully for the common good. #ForgottenMan #HardWork #Society #Recognition #Inspiration #Values #Generations #PeacefulSolidarity
