Dr. Jill Biden recently announced $100 million in public funding to boost research and development into #WomensHealth. UHealth has been at the forefront, with the 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣3️⃣ launch of our Comprehensive Women’s Health Alliance, offering unique and #personalized care at every stage of a woman’s life. Dr. Morgan Shane, director of the UHealth Comprehensive #WHA shared her thoughts on Jill Biden’s announcement: 'Despite being roughly half the population, women are a critically underserved population when it comes to health equity and research. And all too often women’s health is focused on #reproductive health. Additionally, women are frequently caretakers to their households, sometimes at the expense of caring for themselves. The Women’s Health Alliance connects women to much needed #PreventativeCare and women’s healthcare focused services by cutting out the often cumbersome aspect of navigating health care. Situated within the UHealth system, the WHA provides cutting edge, comprehensive women’s health services, creating a multidisciplinary medical home for women of South Florida. In order to advance health, equitably, it is important for all key players and stakeholders to work together. From policymakers, delivery, and industry. How we mitigate barriers (SDOH is one) to quality care for all those that need it is a dialogue for all. Especially when #federal #marketaccess strategies can be nuanced.
