🏘️ Housing Crisis Alert: Foreclosures on the Rise 📈 In the first half of 2024, foreclosure filings in Washington state were up 13.54%. In parts of the state, it’s worse: Spokane saw a staggering 220% increase in foreclosure starts (May 2024 vs. May 2023). Thousands of homeowners are just one crisis away from housing disaster. At Northwest Justice Project (NJP), we're on the frontlines combating this crisis. Our Foreclosure Prevention Unit is dedicated to keeping people housed and preventing homelessness. How NJP helps: • Providing free legal advice and representation • Procuring Housing Assistance Funds • Modifying loans and negotiating repayment plans • Representing borrowers in Foreclosure Fairness Program mediation • Assisting with clear title obtainment and resolving property tax and HOA lien foreclosures Success Story: We recently helped Angela, a single mom and grandmother in Tacoma, save her home from tax foreclosure. With our assistance, she secured a grant to pay back taxes and keep her family housed. We're committed to overcoming systemic inequities and providing critical support to those at risk. Together, we can make a difference in our communities and ensure everyone has a safe place to call home. Stable housing means strong communities.
