Two years ago, I discovered a new dimension of medicine, namely robotic surgery. This is a place where technology and medicine blend in the most beautiful way, for the benefit of the patient. Together with Dr. Paul Alexandru Medan and under the guidance of Prof. Univ. Dr. Nicolae Crișan and Assoc. Prof. Simona Vlad, we analyzed a series of data from robotic-assisted surgeries, which form the basis of a case study entitled "Operating-room time management during robotic-assisted surgeries - Case study," published in the Review of Management & Economic Engineering, vol. 23, no. 1 (2024). Since I started this journey as a clinical specialist at SOFMEDICA Life-saving Innovation, I can say that surgical efficiency is the most important aspect, contributed to by several factors: the experience of the lead surgeon and those who are near the patient, having a certain rule for the operating steps, good practice and organization of the operating room staff, as well as the optimal use of modern technology and surgical instruments.
