One of his most significant contributions to cardiology includes developing an artificial heart valve and an artificial heart assist device that are used worldwide in severe heart conditions. As a mentor and educator, Dr. Noor often serves as faculty at various conferences and programs, and Boston Scientific’s Fellows 101 Program was the first of many in May!  During a dinner with vascular surgery fellows, faculty discussed life in the interventional world and how it differs for a surgeon, cardiologist, or interventional radiologist. Faculty shared their personal trials and tribulations with the attendees. During a busy day of various sessions, faculty presented different disease states and discussed different cases complications, and hands-on experience with devices, providing fellows with a comprehensive look at the world of vascular disease. #vascularsurgery #BEVSA #vascularsurgeonbuffalo #buffalo

We proudly present our project partner Medical University of Innsbruck, Vascular Surgery University Clinic - State Hospital of Innsbruck, Austria. The team with our corresponding partner Dr. Kristina Grassl and Univ. Prof. Dr. Sabine Wipper, Priv.-Doz. Dr. Dr.med. Alexandra Gratl, FEBVS; Priv.-Doz. Dr. Florian Enzmann, PHD, FEBVS; and David Walcher (medical student) and is a great example of innovative aortic research. Their preliminary results demonstrate the potential of biomechanical risk parameters in the identification of aneurysm patients, whose aorta is likely to rupture in the future. The figure shows two cases of matching baseline characteristics - while one aorta is going to rupture in a few years, the other one keeps stable. It is biomechanical parameters at baseline that predicted that already years ahead. The great effort of setting up this excellently designed study is highly appreciated, and we are looking forward to the continuation of this work. #aorta#healthcareinnovation#aortic#MedicalStudy#aorticdisease#abdominalaortic#aneurysm#ruptured#biomechanics
