As we lead up to World Blood Cancer Day 2024 on 28th May and as part of a series of infographics, this redefines providing hope for Hodgkin Lymphoma - a type of Blood Cancer where Lanka Hospitals' Blood Cancer Centre (LHBCC) achieves an estimated 90% 5-year survival rate for Hodgkin Lymphoma patients continuing treatment, and an overall 5-year estimated survival rate of 81%. #November marks Lung Cancer Awareness Month. Lung cancer is a significant health concern worldwide, and this month serves as an opportunity to educate people about the importance of prevention, early diagnosis, and access to resources for those impacted by this disease. It's also a time for fundraising and advocacy efforts to support research and improve outcomes for individuals with lung cancer. Special thanks to the American Lung Association and other organizations that raise awareness and empower those with the disease. Signs and symptoms of lung cancer may include: - a persistent cough (for more than 3 weeks); - coughing up blood or blood-stained phlegm; - chest and/ or shoulder pains; - tiredness and loss of energy; - weight loss (for no obvious reason); - shortness of breath or wheezing; - hoarse voice; - a change in the shape at the end of your fingers (clubbing).
