Brazil to Construct Nation’s Largest 4 GW Solar Power Plant in Piauí to Boost Green Hydrogen and Ammonia Production In a landmark agreement, Pedro Vaquer, CEO of Solatio, and Rafael Fonteles, Governor of Piauí, have announced the construction of Brazil’s largest photovoltaic (PV) project. Scheduled to begin in 2025, this 4 GW solar power plant will be located in the Exportation Free Zone of Parnaíba. The ambitious $1.98 billion project is set to bolster the hydrogen production industry for ammonia manufacturing in Parnaíba. Is it possible to compare Australia with Germany/Europe? To be honest I think this is difficult because Australia has more space to add renewables and therefore a more steady power generation for the hydrogen production and I would guess that the actual local demand of hydrogen is less. BUT this may change when more hydrogen will be used for the back up power plants. What is your opinion on this? Would be great if you could share with me your thoughts in the comments.
