The COVID-19 pandemic further weakened healthcare systems in Latin America and the Caribbean, exposing vulnerabilities and setbacks in progress towards universal health coverage. To prevent future crises, healthcare systems must continue to invest in and implement policies and programs to respond to and recover from future public health crises, while enhancing efforts to reduce inequality and achieve the goal of universal health coverage. 📆The deadline for article submissions is February 29, 2024. 🇪🇺 The EU Council's latest conclusions mark a pivotal moment for health policy in Europe! Adopted on 21 June 2024, they underscore a renewed commitment to prioritizing health in the upcoming mandate. Key among these priorities is the urgent need to address #NCDs such as #diabetes and #hypertension. Recognizing the transformative potential of digital health tools, the Council highlights initiatives like DigiCare4You - A Horizon 2020 Project. This innovative solution integrates community-based and personalized approaches to prevent and manage type 2 diabetes and hypertension. We take a patient-centred approach to all of the work we do at Lumiio, which means designing digital health programs that are optimized and empowering for patients. This is particularly important when working in rare disease spaces, where patients and their families often need to become their own disease experts. Digital health tools and platforms can help foster global communities for people living with rare diseases, offering support, information, and opportunities to help further research. The 77th World Health Assembly is taking place in Geneva, Switzerland, from May 27 to June 1, 2024. This annual meeting, organized by the World Health Organization, is a cornerstone event in global health. The Assembly's primary functions include setting the Organization's policies, appointing the Director-General, overseeing financial policies, and reviewing and approving the proposed program budget. This year's theme is "All for Health, Health for All". On May 26, 2024, representatives from CLAN Child Health, @MATES4Kids (Maximising Access To Essential Supplies for Children), International Society for Neonatal Screening (ISNS), and Yayasan Kesehatan Anak Global (YKAG) participated in a side event at this year's assembly.
