Are we looking at events all wrong? Events are a vital part of marketing. It comes from the connections made, relationships nurtured and leads generated. In other words, it’s not so much about the spectacle of the event, but rather how you leverage it to foster meaningful relationships and generate sustainable growth. Next time you plan an event, consider how you can make your follow-up strategy just as impactful as the event itself. Remember, conversations don’t end when the event does. Why I still believe in offline It seems that since all these covid times we all have got used to online communications. We can do anything online from learning to having a drink with friends. However, it is still not the same experience that we may have offline, and I know it because of two conferences for crm-marketers we made in the last two years. This year we doubled the number of participants. All these people decided to sacrifice their weekend & came to another city to listen to the speakers and to chat with their colleagues, and I believe that “to chat” plays the main role. I think that our conference “Marketing & Spree” is the best thing we’ve ever done for our PR & brand awareness and it is also a great contribution to the crm-marketers community. Summing up the experience of these two years, I can come up with several points that I believe are important for such events. 1. Networking. Prepare some activities that will make people communicate with each other, it can be a funny quiz, speed dating, debate. It may be hard for some people to communicate with strangers, but if they take part in some funny activity it can work like an ice breaker. 2. Find something that will differ you from other events in your sphere. In our case we have that “Spree” part: disco with cocktails after the main and interactive part, and we have an informal second day, where people can join groups and do activities together. This year the guys went subsurfing, boating and had nice breakfast together. 3. Invite your clients. Such events are the best opportunity to build informal relationships & grow loyalty with your clients. 4. Invite the potential clients from your sales funnel. If they are in the process of making a decision & comparing you to your competitors, that informal communication can help you to win some points.

My takeaways for events that are happening in Web 3: - People are tired of new protocols and promises. Buzzwords are dying. - There are so many normies and it’s awesome. - FHE is the future. - This space is big with many niches. General networking events kinda suck. - PR is propaganda. A badly received airdrop can destroy your reputation. - Some people’s opinion shape the industry too much. - "The more the merrier" doesn't apply to side events.
