Did you know that Prestressed Double T's can span over 100 feet? That's right, a FIMA rated Double T can span up to 104 feet! If you're working on a project that requires large spans, such as storm shelters, prestressed double T's might be the best option. Consider using them to ensure your project is structurally sound and meets all safety requirements. #construction #engineering #prestressed #DoubleT Prestressed Concrete Construction

COLUMN CRANKING This is becoming a new normal in most construction sites. They call it pillar cranking. I personally hate this thing with all my being. The cause of this pillar going out of alignment is poor setting out and poor setting of footings. If I'm around I always make sure there's LxB lines during setting out of columns People do this After discovering that the pillar is out of line where structurally it should be, the contractor or foreman will call his iron bender to use his bar and bring it into the right position. If you have 30 to 35 columns in a foundation and about 7 to 5 are like this, you have done an improper setting out or you did not supervise your excavation activities properly. Note that not all pillars that you will apply this method of correction to and it will not have an impact on the structure's integrity. That is why setting out and setting footings and columns is a very important activity and should be done by a professional. This type of Cranking can affect the structural integrity of buildings. #civilengineering #construction #projectmanagement #projectengineer ✍️ Cc KnoxConsult

The Importance of Grouting in Post-Tensioning As a civil engineer with experience in the post-tensioning field, I’ve seen firsthand how critical grouting is to the integrity and longevity of post-tensioned structures. Grouting of cables serves several key purposes: 1.Corrosion Protection: By filling the ducts around the post-tensioning tendons, grout prevents water and corrosive elements from reaching the steel, thereby significantly extending the lifespan of the structure. 2.Load Transfer: Properly grouted tendons ensure effective load transfer between the concrete and the tendons, contributing to the overall stability and strength of the structure. 3.Durability: Grouting improves the overall durability of the structure by protecting against environmental factors and enhancing the bond between the tendons and the surrounding concrete. 4.Structural Integrity: It mitigates the risk of tendon failure, which is crucial for maintaining the structural integrity of bridges, buildings, and other infrastructure. Quality grouting practices are essential for achieving the designed performance of post-tensioned systems. Regular inspections and adherence to best practices in grouting can help prevent costly repairs and extend the service life of structures. Let's continue to prioritize excellence and precision in our post-tensioning projects. The durability and safety of our infrastructure depend on it! #CivilEngineering #PostTensioning #Grouting #StructuralIntegrity #Construction #EngineeringExcellence --- Feel free to personalize this post further to better reflect your experiences and insights.

Did you know that Comstock Construction offers civil construction work 👷🚜 So what exactly is that? It goes under many names like "civil construction," "dirtwork" or "earthwork," but they're all referring to the same thing; moving the soil to prep the ground for future development. 🌱 So things like: 🔌 Placing underground utility piping at a new housing development 💧 Precisely grading a county ditch for proper drainage 🔨 Demolition and disposal of an existing building to make room for a new building Earthwork establishes a strong foundation for your construction project. It literally shapes the world and for that reason, dirtwork makes the earth work. "Efficiently elevate your construction projects with concrete buckets on tower cranes, ensuring precise and streamlined delivery of concrete to every level." For effective transportation and placement of concrete at different heights and locations on a building site, tower crane-mounted concrete buckets are indispensable instruments in the construction industry. These buckets include a lever-operated gate at the bottom that allows for exact concrete pouring, and they are made to be lifted by the crane's hook. This technique is particularly helpful for large-scale projects or high-rise buildings where moving concrete by typical methods would be difficult or time-consuming. The buckets are composed of sturdy materials and come in a range of sizes to withstand the weight and caustic nature of concrete. #concrete #construction #building #civilconstruction #civilengineering #civilengineer #engenhariacivil
