REFLECTION : A Day at PeTARY 📖 part1
On 6 December 2023, there’s an event called PeTARY’s Open Day and variety of activities are held there such as PeTARY Scavenger Hunt, Quiz and Creative Writing . There are also various booth like book fair, book donation, food and beverage , reflexology and karaoke. That evening was crowded with students but it is a fun experience as I can be socialised toward each others , learn and so inspired by any booth held in the PeTARY that day.
I asked the librarian advisor to show and guide me and my group friends about how and what the procedure of borrowing the book from the PeTARY. She said the procedure is very simple as when you want to borrow the book, you need to bring your matrics card as a student to the counter with a book. For the undergraduate, they only can borrow 10 books for 2 weeks. Theres no need to do any payment as generally I have matrics card as the Internal Membership.
Theres also another way to borrow the book other than go through the long line counter. I can use LibraryPal Apps as an easier and quicker way to borrows book from PeTARY. What I need to do is log in using UNIMAS Identity and select Malaysia as the country then choose Perpustakaan Tun Abdul Rahman Ya’kub (PeTARY). After successfully log in, I must find the colorful RF1D tag at the back of the book to scan. Green notifications will pops up which mean the book successfully checkout and I can skip the counter while red notifications is the opposite which I need to go to the counter.
On that day,I have given a task by my facilitator, Madam Rasidah to use and also learn how to search book in PeTARY using LibrARY OneSearch which available at the ground floor of PeTARY. I can search any type of book for example “Pathology” and choose the desire book. Then, it will guide you to the current location as in level 2 ,status of the book is available or not and its call number. Hence , I can proceed to the shelf stated and where the book located.
