As an ICU cardiology nurse, it's essential to be vigilant in emergency situations. Here are some vital steps to take: 1. Check if the patient is conscious and breathing. 2. Verify the leads. 3. Ensure emergency equipment is nearby. 4. Work with the doctor to perform electro-conversion or any necessary medication treatment 5. Check arterial blood sample ASAP Additionally, if the patient has an L-VAD pump, it's crucial to note that the ECG may look different than other VTs on the screen. Check the pump parameters in case of low pump flow - you may even hear it! Stay sharp and stay safe. #ICUnursing #cardiology #emergencyresponse

HELLO CONNECTION ❗ ARTICLE ON CENTRAL VENOUS CATHETER A central venous catheter (CVC) is an indwelling device inserted into a large, central vein (most commonly the internal jugular, subclavian, or femoral) and advanced until the terminal lumen resides within the inferior vena cava, superior vena cava, or right atrium. These devices and the techniques employed to place them are synonymous with "central line" or "central venous access." The placement of a CVC was first described in 1929. Over the following decades, central venous access rapidly developed into an essential experimental instrument for studying cardiac physiology and an indispensable clinical tool in treating many disease processes.
