Contributing to such an important report has benefited me by being provided with a bigger picture to the in-depth intersectionality between urbanism and other fields, and how much does each aspect relied on all the rest. It has been a pleasure to add contributions about #urban_governance and #green_buildings in the Green Growth Policy Review of Egypt, by the #OECD
Out now! Check out the first OECD Green Growth Policy Review of Egypt, one of the first outputs of the #Egypt-OECD country programme. http://oe.cd/ggpr-egypt The in-depth chapter focuses on "Building climate-smart, resilient and inclusive cities". Given Egypt's challenges related to providing affordable housing for a fast-growing population, the report comes at a timely moment to help Egypt better connect and integrate environmental and urban agendas. The launch event usually marks the official end of the review cycle. However, I hope this will be the starting point for deepening our policy dialogue with Egypt, especially in the context of the upcoming World Urban Forum 2024 #WUF in #Cairo. Special thanks go to our Egyptian counterparts in the Ministry of Environment: Her Excellency Minister Yassmin Fouad, Deputy Minister Mohamed Moatamed and our focal point Zainab Zaki, and in the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development: Her Excellency Hala H. Elsaid, Heba Youssef and their colleagues. It was a great pleasure to lead this work, and I would like to thank all contributors: Ahmed Zaazaa, Tamer Elshayal, François Menguelé, Alexandra LAMOTTE, Mohammed Fangary, Judy L.
