The OECD Rethinking Regional Attractiveness programme helps policy makers understand how regions can better attract talent, investors, and visitors in today’s changing world, and supports the implementation of relevant attractiveness policies. The Regional Attractiveness Compass allows you to choose your region of interest and explore its attractiveness to investors, talent and visitors, through an interactive, user-friendly tool. 🌐💶 Major geopolitical and geo-economic challenges have altered the European cluster landscape since the previous Cluster Panorama Report was published in 2021. Europe's cluster ecosystem is rapidly expanding! The 🇪🇺 European #Cluster Panorama 2024 is out! Presenting 🔑 facts and figures on the EU’s cluster landscape, the report also shows why we need to keep putting industrial #clusters in the spotlight: as drivers of 📈 competitiveness &💡innovation. According to the Panorama: ➡️ The presence of clusters in a region is positively correlated with GDP per capita and labour productivity ➡️ There is a relatively strong relationship between the presence of clusters and business R&D expenditure and patenting activity ➡️ A positive and significant relationship is found between the presence of clusters and employment in tech and knowledge sectors The report also includes an excursus on the 🚘 Mobility-Transport-Automotive ecosystem, showing that regions with cluster organisations in this ecosystem tend to have higher shares of 🌳green and 📱digital tech startups and tend to record higher VC investments into this type of startups. Transitioning to a greener energy system, and a greener economy in general, is a crucial matter, a matter that also affects the lives of many people, especially the ones living in regions dependent on fossil fuels. Therefore, securing that this transition is also just, taking into consideration the impacts on local communities, is very important, and to achieve that it is important to take into account the opinions of local stakeholders and citizens.
