As we celebrate DOE Resiliency Month🍃, we’re pleased to share that 35 state, local and Tribal governments will receive $12.6 million from the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant (EECBG) Program! We are announcing selections for the first round of competitive funding under the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) Codes Program. SCEP has selected 19 applications for awards totaling over $240 million. https://bit.ly/3MmgwYJ These programs will adopt and implement the latest model codes, zero energy codes, or innovative codes including building performance standards. Exciting news! 💰🌿 SCEP has just announced a $66M investment expanding access to low-cost energy efficiency financing. The Energy Efficiency Revolving Loan Fund Capitalization Grant program provides states and territories access to a pool of capital for energy efficiency projects in public buildings, residential and commercial buildings 🏢 AND technical assistance. Revolving Loan Funds can be replenishing pools of capital where payments can be recycled to fund projects well into the future. Each federal dollar used to establish a revolving loan fund at the state or local level has the potential to jump-start local economies while helping combat climate change. 🌿 This week SCEP awarded 14 states and one territory federal grants that integrate renewable energy and newer technologies into our existing Weatherization Assistance Program . Sustainable Energy Resources for Consumers (SERC) grants allow DOE to evaluate technologies such as solar, cold climate air source heat pumps, electrification and triple pane windows.
