🔒 Let's Talk Safer Recruitment in the Tuition Industry! 🔒 I've always been astounded by the lack of regulation in the tutoring sector, where practically anyone can set themselves up as a tutor without any checks or balances. The thought of individuals having unrestricted access to children is deeply concerning to me. 😨 Moreover, many parents are unsure about what to look for when hiring a tutor, which is why I advocate for choosing agencies like ours. We go the extra mile by conducting thorough background checks, almost akin to those you'd find in a school setting. I take immense pride in our agency's commitment to safer recruitment practices. Our rigorous processes and instincts ensure that we maintain the highest standards of safety for our students. 💪 Sure, it's not always easy. CHALLENGING HATEFUL MISINFORMATION What are the challenges that teachers and youth workers face, and the strategies that they might or might not employ, when young people encounter misinformation and disinformation in community and classroom settings? What are the different types of misinformation and disinformation that they observe young people encounter? Researchers at the University of Technology Sydney are seeking to interview a small number of teachers and youth workers about these questions. This is part of a research project to examine the efficacy of an online training program, called Challenging Hateful Misinformation. This project is developed by the anti-racist organisation All Together Now with the aim of equipping teachers and youth workers to better manage misinformation and disinformation young people are encountering.
