In a sea of hospitality CVs, standing out is crucial to landing your dream role. Here's how I've made mine shine: 🌟 Tailor Your CV: I always ensure my CV speaks directly to the job description. Highlighting specific skills and experience that match the role makes it clear why I'm the perfect fit. 🏨 Industry Keywords: Including hospitality-specific jargon demonstrates my industry knowledge. Phrases like "guest satisfaction," "front-of-house operations," and "reservation management" are not just buzzwords; they're the language of our field. 📈 Quantifiable Achievements: I quantify my successes, such as "Increased room occupancy by 20%" or "Improved guest service scores by 30%." Numbers grab attention and prove my impact. 👩💼 Professional Development: I list relevant courses or certifications, like a Wine & Spirit Education Trust (WSET) level or a hospitality management diploma. Continuous learning shows commitment and a desire to grow. 🌐 Cultural Competence: The hospitality industry is global. I mention any language skills or international experience to showcase my ability to engage with diverse clientele. 📚 Education and Training: While listing my qualifications, I focus on those most relevant to hospitality, such as a degree in hospitality management or a vocational course in customer service. 💡 Creative Layout: A touch of creativity can make a CV pop. I use a clean, professional design with just enough flair to be memorable without sacrificing readability. 🔗 Personal Brand: I include a link to my LinkedIn profile, which features recommendations from colleagues and a portfolio of my work in the industry. 🌟 Soft Skills: Hospitality thrives on soft skills. I highlight my communication, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities, which are as important as any technical skill. ✍️ Cover Letter: I never send my CV without a personalized cover letter. It's my chance to tell a story that my CV can't, explaining my passion for hospitality and why I'm a cultural fit for the company. By focusing on these areas, my CV doesn't just list my experience; it tells a compelling story of my journey in hospitality. Remember, it's not just about being qualified—it's about being unforgettable. #HospitalityCareers #CVTips #CareerGrowth

All of these things are really helpful to a recruiter. I like the emails that you send with the CV attached - gives me a great insight and can explain a lot before I open the CV. Layout with accurate dates is crucial and links are helpful. Not every agency does this, they just attach a CV with no explanation, which is why Oliver Holland and Toby Wells are my go to people 😊
