”I've had such a huge mindset flip since I started here. I used to be really immature and make a lot of poor decisions that didn't help me grow professionally, personally, or financially. I was kind of just stagnant until my manager gave me some advice that really stuck with me: 𝐈𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮'𝐫𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐲𝐨𝐮'𝐫𝐞 𝐝𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠. 𝐒𝐨, 𝐈 𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐰 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐢𝐞. ~ I also used to struggle so much with self worth, and I’d let every little thing that someone else said or thought about me completely affect the way I viewed myself. I would let other people and their own insecurities/projections control my feelings and my mind. That’s no way to live. 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐣𝐨𝐛, 𝐈 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐭𝐨 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐈 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞, 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐠𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐰𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐫 𝐈 𝐫𝐮𝐧 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐮𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐟𝐮𝐥. ~ Before working here, I never really felt like I fit in anywhere. I always felt like the outsider in high school and even in college, where all my classmates were also interested in neuroscience. I just never felt like I had values that aligned with the people around me. ~ 𝐈 𝐦𝐞𝐭 𝐦𝐲 𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐟𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐣𝐨𝐛, 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐈 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐈 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭. It feels like I was always searching for a peer group that shared my ideals and values, and pushed me to become a better version of myself. I finally found it here, and I'm eternally grateful for every single person that I've met in my journey here with Vector so far. A culture where you can reach your goals and have so much support from the people around you. If I'd known that before… During my first job, I worked hard, stayed focused on doing a good job, and I never:  ✨ Expressed clearly my ambitions to anyone apart from my boss. I thought: "He's my boss; of course, he's going to help me fulfil my ambitions   ✨Had a clear understanding of the paths I could take. I thought, "Something will come up; it's a big company." ✨Went to any other area of the company than the one I was working within If I could go back, I would say to the Valentine back then:  ✨Your boss cares about his interests and the teams' ones. If yours are not aligned, you won't be his priority. Be YOUR priority. ✨When "something comes up," you need to be ready for it. So, meet people doing different jobs within the company ask questions so when an opportunity comes up, you can recognise it. ✨You know no one, and no one knows you. Opportunities will not travel up to your shop floor's corner; you need to go places to catch them. And how are you supposed to display an understanding of the business if you've not even been in the other buildings? If I'd known that before I would have started straight away preparing for my next move. Great example of why people become entrepreneurs. Choosing entrepreneurship because you prefer independence and creative control is common. Many entrepreneurs thrive on the freedom to pursue their vision without the constraints of a traditional job. It's about following your passion and creating your own path.

Life is too short. You need to set a goal that makes you want to jump out of bed in the morning. Recognize that what you're doing today is part of your journey toward your ultimate destiny. Many people go through life without realizing they need to flip the switch and embrace their purpose. I always knew I wanted to coach individuals to higher success. I accepted that my early sales jobs didn’t excite me as much, like when I sold coffee & snacks door-to-door to small and midsize companies. But, I understood that it was a temporary step that would help me reach my long-term goal. I knew these experiences would shape me and if I kept working hard, it would eventually lead to my ultimate goal of helping others achieve success. I went from factory work and lugging salt bags to a professional sales and marketing position where I developed interpersonal skills, negotiation, and how to appeal to work with older adults. (2) Think of everyone as a person rather than a “client” every interaction I try to build relationships, and make friends with people. (3) It almost never hurts to just ask. Being able to confidently handle objections with confidence has boosted my self-esteem tremendously. I am becoming less of a pushover in my personal and professional life. Work cultures can be tricky to navigate at times; sometimes, when coming into an organization with lots of seniority, a new person is not seen as part of the clique, especially if they replaced an influential senior member of the team. As new hires replace those who retire these individuals may face resistance or may not be included in basic social gatherings such as lunch. Another issue is not everyone is the most social person in the world. Neurodivergent workers often feel left out because they cannot connect with their coworkers. The coworkers may feel that they don't want to be with them, so they don't ask. It's all about being inclusive and always extending an invitation. You never know what the other person feels or perceives. Everyone wants a positive culture and a great place to work, so employees need to create those spaces for themselves and for others. Organizations run at their optimum when people feel respected, valued, and heard.
