As we wrap up #Pride month, we wanted to reflect on the amazing activities our OUT @ Omada ERG planned. What did we get up to? 🌈 We kicked off the month with Drag Show Bingo, hosted by Virtual Drag Shows' Schwa Works for the third year in a row! 🌈 Celebrated our pride with a karaoke hour hosted by our OUT ERG (we loved the Omada renditions of "Good Luck, Babe!" by Chappell Roan) 🌈 Held space for colleagues with a pride discussion hour for employees to have an opportunity to reflect on the importance of the month 🌈 Collaborated with the Capability ERG to host a speaker who identifies as neuroqueer to explore self-acceptance, regulation techniques, and learn more about the overlap between Autism and gender diversity 🌈 Lastly, OUT ERG sent Omada Pride swag to members! Check out the amazing sweatshirts below! #OmadaPride #PrideMonth

Mark your calendar! Our September Women's Group is next Thursday, Sept. 21. In each group, we provide timely information on topics that are important to autistic women. These sessions are intended to provide a safe space for women to connect, ask questions, share stories and enjoy valuable peer connection. Join ust at 4:00 p.m. at The Ability Hub (300, 3820 24 Ave NW) or virtually on Sinneave Connects, our online learning hub. In this particular session, we’ll talk about friendships and relationships, including a discussion on the characteristics that make a good friend, and recognizing characteristics that make a bad friend. We’ll also talk about boundary setting in relationships and attempt to answer other friendship-related questions as they arise. First timers are always welcome as each session’s topic and discussion is unique. *Please note: All are welcome no matter how you identify, however, please be aware that information and resources provided are based on female assigned at birth. All gender expressions are welcome. If you haven't used Sinneave Connects yet, you will need to create a FREE account. It's easy! Just visit: https://bit.ly/3rgW8S4 for more info. Just had a wonderful conversation about #neurodivergence and it has triggered a question in my mind… How many people labelled introverted are actually just neurodivergent trying to understand neurotypical? And how many extroverts are neurodivergent with a mask on to fit in? And are labels like introverted or extroverted obsolete now? They don’t seem helpful that is for sure. #diversity #belonging #inclusion #thethrivingworkplace24

How do the sounds around you affect your emotions?! 🔊😮 We are all constantly reacting to what we hear. The crash of a car, a voice calling your name, or a faint dripping of a faucet are just a few examples of sounds that will prompt us to feel and act in certain ways. Activity 5.1 looks at your individual complexion of these responses while supporting the development of emotional regulation skills. #regulationbeats #emotionalintelligence #inclusion #musicproduction #selfawareness

Let's broaden our understanding of Tourette's! It's not just about tics and outbursts; it's a beautiful spectrum showcasing the diversity of our brains. 🧠💫 Join us in fostering a more inclusive world for those with TS. Tips for Allies: - Educate yourself on TS. Sort facts from myths. - Practice patience and refrain from judging uncontrollable tics. - Offer help only if asked; treat people with TS normally. - Use person-first language: "person with Tourette's." - Respectfully avoid triggering words or statements. - Advocate for necessary accommodations. Together, let's create a space where everyone feels understood and accepted. 💙 #TourettesAwareness #Inclusion #Support

I really debated doing this as most of you know I love sharing positive things & changing for the better through education and awareness! But sometimes things are aren’t always & we need to share that as well! Regarding my post yesterday we attended an event hosted by Micheal Janz that was marketed as fully inclusive & creating a better community & city with the amazing Kuno (service dog & amazing human Marla) I tossed & turned last night Deeply disappointed & disturbed at not only what we saw but what Mr.Janz said to us all excuses for why he couldn’t host at another venue when in fact he could have (the owner of the citedel theatre was there & said they were available 😳🤬) it’s the fact that he didn’t even try! How would you feel if your purposely not Included in events like this where your voices should matter? We need changes desperately but again this is why we own the business ! We have a lot of work to do & unfortunately we keep talking Steps backwards! We need to get people to think differently people with disabilities are the only minority that is stuck in the past and we need to move forward collectively ! It’s one thing we all have in common is eventually going to be disabled but yet nobody was to talk about it ? What will it take ? By the time it happening to everyone it’s not late we need change NOW for our future! It’s starts with the people at the top & trickles down! What if we stared hiring people with disabilities to help with decisions like this? I will not stop talking & being a voice my community! I will continue fight & share stories! Will you fight with us ?? Thanks for your support and love throughout all this! “WE before me” NOTE* this is not a venue issue it’s not there fault at all! This is clearly a human rights issue! #yeg #yyc #dobetter #ourlivesmatter #disabilityawareness #education #awareness
