🌺🌺Remembrance Day is a day to honour and remember the people who have died in wars, especially the First and Second World Wars. It is observed on November 11th every year, the date when the First World War ended. On this day, people across the world pay tribute to the fallen soldiers by holding ceremonies, wearing poppies, and observing a two-minute silence at 11 am. The poppy is a symbol of Remembrance Day because it was one of the few flowers that grew on the battlefields of the First World War. 🌺🍂 Remembrance Day is also known as Armistice Day or Veterans Day in some countries. The veteran population is expected to become more racially and ethnically diverse in coming years. “Between 2021 and 2046, the share of veterans who are non-Hispanic White is expected to drop from 74% to 62%,” according to Pew Research. “The share of veterans who are Hispanic is expected to double from 8% to 16%.” Latinos have earned more than 40 Medals of Honor, according to the Department of Defense.
