Our year-end function was a testament to the strength of our team and the invaluable experiences we've shared. We were honored to host Prof Alistair Mokoena, Country Director at Google, as our distinguished guest speaker. I can't get enough of sharing this photo, which very well represents the success of one of our projects implemented in 2023 at a leading pulp mill in Southern Bahia, Brazil, managed by Timenow and led by me. A unique project that demonstrated the power of teamwork, with a dedicated team achieving great results during implementation.
You can't see me in the photo, but I'm subtly integrated into the team, symbolizing the role of a leader - empowering a team with identity and autonomy to make decisions. Success reflects the commitment of the team and the critical role of collaboration.
Again, leadership is not about commanding; it's about inspiring and empowering. The strength of a leader is seen in the collective accomplishments of the team. I thank Timenow for their trust and all the team members for their contributions.

It was a pleasure to meet you, Nabil Al-Hasan. I’m especially delighted when seasoned professionals like you understand the essence of the work that PMO Global Alliance - PMOGA has been developing together with our global community over the past few years, now under the Project Management Institute umbrella. For all of us, it is an incredible opportunity to contribute practical and applied knowledge, generated from research but primarily from the real-world experiences of those leading PMOs around the world.
Each day working with our outstanding volunteer leaders worldwide, I become more convinced that understanding the nuances of a successful PMO goes far beyond technical aspects. This is the first step to ensuring that a PMO can effectively generate value and be recognized.
If there is one thing I definitely believe is that every approach is valid, as long as it is understood as a source of inspiration and not an ideal model to be followed.
More and more, I see PMO leaders who know exactly what needs to be done from a technical perspective. The real challenge is turning theory into reality when culture, maturity, and people are the hidden variables that are often underestimated, causing frustration for everyone involved.
I believe the new Project Management Institute PMO Practice Guide, to be released soon, will be a game-changer. Instead of providing an “ideal PMO model”, it will enable PMO Leaders to create their own solutions.

I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Americo Pinto one of the most influential thought leaders in the PMO space. His energy and enthusiasm for advancing PMO Global Alliance - PMOGA 's work, now under the umbrella of Project Management Institute , were truly inspiring.
During our conversation, I expressed my deep appreciation for the PMO Value Ring. Its philosophy of being an adaptable framework for establishing or enhancing PMOs resonates strongly with me. Unlike a rigid, one-size-fits-all approach, the PMO Value Ring emphasizes starting with the end in mind—stakeholder expectations—and then defining PMO functions accordingly.
