🌟 Did you know that Singapore’s National Orchid Garden, a UNESCO World Heritage site, chose our photovoltaic glass to create the perfect environment for their orchids? A few years ago, we played a key role in the renovation of the National Orchid Garden in Singapore, where we installed our advanced photovoltaic glass technology. This iconic garden, located within the Singapore Botanic Gardens, was equipped with a custom-designed skylight featuring 15 different types of glass, meticulously crafted to fit the complex metal framework. Our photovoltaic skylight, made of trapezoidal insulated glass units, was engineered to maintain an optimal indoor temperature ranging from 16°C to 23°C, essential for the healthy growth of orchids. Not only does our glass generate clean energy, but it also meets the stringent light transmission and g-value requirements set by the client, ensuring natural light and thermal comfort for these delicate plants. 🌟 Did you know that Moll de Gregal in Barcelona is gearing up for the 2024 America's Cup with our cutting edge technology? We are pleased to announce our participation in the renovation of Moll de Gregal at Port Olímpic, Barcelona. This project, led by the Ajuntament de Barcelona alongside Barcelona de Serveis Municipals, Barcelona Regional, and Ordeic Projectes i Consultoria, revitalizes a 24,000 m² area to enhance training facilities, aquatic sports, and attract entrepreneurs focused on innovation and the circular economy. Onyx Solar has installed over 2,500 m² of solar canopies featuring 1,194 photovoltaic glasses. Our PV glass, with 6 mm double glazing and an acid-treated interior, ensure efficient light transmission and effective shadow diffusion. Specifically designed for this project, they guarantee uniform cell distribution and precise adaptation to the space. The installation, carried out in collaboration with Copcisa and ACCIONA, was meticulously aligned with project specifications, ensuring seamless integration with existing structures. Moll de Gregal is not only preparing to host the 2024 America's Cup, the oldest international sailing competition in the world, but is also improving connectivity with its surroundings and stimulating maritime economic activity. As we were flipping through our catalog, we came across a page that reminded us of the Valletta Design Cluster project in Malta. This project highlights the combination of historical preservation and technological innovation. Located in a 17th-century abattoir, the Valletta Design Cluster now features Onyx Solar's photovoltaic glass, showing one more time how modern technology can enhance a heritage building. Our crystalline silicon photovoltaic glass not only enhances the building's aesthetic and functional value but also plays a crucial role in its energy efficiency. Thanks to the 12 mm air chamber and low iron tempered glass frit, the photovoltaic glass significantly improves the building’s thermal and acoustic insulation. This reduces the need for artificial cooling, increasing visitor comfort. This project is part of the Maltese government's effort to turn Valletta into a green city by 2030, promoting sustainable buildings and green infrastructures. Additionally, the Valletta Design Cluster won the Rehabilitation and Conservation Award at the Malta Architecture and Spatial Planning Awards 2021. We are pleased to announce the completion of the Car Park project at the Westmead Children's Hospital in Sydney. This newly inaugurated project is a great example of collaboration and joint effort to achieve exceptional results. The north façade of the new Multi Story Car Park features 90 units of terracotta-colored crystalline PV glass, each measuring 2700 x 975 mm. This custom-designed glass enhances both the aesthetics and functionality of the building, contributing to the hospital's sustainability and energy efficiency. The project challenges the traditional trajectory of car park design. This new parking facility offers over 1,000 parking spaces for staff and 75 charging stations for electric vehicles. The property Health Infrastructure, along with the builder Kane Constructions Pty Ltd and architects CCG Architects Pty Ltd and Billard Leece Partnership, have been essential in the realization of this project. Thanks to their vision and dedication, we have been able to contribute to the hospital's sustainability and energy efficiency.
