Did you know this, Rebel Vegans? The ocean generates fifty percent of the oxygen we breathe. It helps regulate our climate, and it is the driving force of the global circulation system of water between land, sea, and the atmosphere. The meat industry does not just waste water, it pollutes it beyond repair. Waste from the 90 billion animals raised in factory farms for slaughter each year, consisting of antibiotic-resistant bacteria, hormones, bedding waste, antibiotic residues, chemicals, ammonia, nitrogen, heavy metals, and even dead animals. All of this runs off into our streams, rivers, and eventually leads to our oceans. The result is ocean dead zones empty of their usual biodiversity. These zones also pose a risk to human health due to the toxic effects of red tides. There are also other issues such as overfishing and plastic pollution but I didn't want to make this post too long. #veganlife #veganlifestyle #veganforlife #vegan

Every year, around 13% of the world’s food is lost due to a lack of effective refrigeration. Expanding access to sustainable cold chains would not only reduce food loss and waste, it would also help cut greenhouse gas emissions. Improved cold chain infrastructure would also boost incomes for farmers and nutrition for consumers. More than fossil fuels. Meat and seafood industry is the reason there is large scale poverty, inequality and food and water insecurity. Its a high time we reduce or find alternatives. Vegan food provides plenty of options for a rich macro and protein rich diet. Let's take that 75% of human induced emissions are required for energy needed for manufacturing, transport and energy requirements which is coming from fossil fuels. Alternate fuels and and bio plastics will tackle that eventually. That is part of 37billion tons annual emissions. Then? We are losing out our carbon sinks. Forests and oceans for our food systems. Phytoplankton's give out 50-85% of oxygen on this planet! And whale's poo fertlisies that. We are killing whales, sharks, just for baycatch! That is by mistake. And the fact that krills and many other fishes are taken without consideration would empty our oceans out by 2048! And fill it with plastics instead.
