We just passed 40 employees that all live here in southern Indiana. Here is what I learned from hiring over 50 employees in the last 5 Years: 1. Encourage conflict! Yes, this is surprisingly my number one tip. After reading five dysfunctions it helped me realize the importance of constructive conflict! A healthy organization cannot live without it 2. Have some sort of operating system like EOS. This has been a game changer 3. Spend the time to actively listen. Nothing worse than an employee that doesn't feel heard. 4. Make sure you communicate your vision, and you hire off of values. 5. Higher slow, fire fast. If somebody is not happy, it will spread like a cancer. most of the time it's because they're just not the right person for that role. 6. Positive people and negative people are both infectious. Try to pull in positive attitudes as much as possible. 7. Watch your overhead. People are your biggest assets and biggest expense. It is too easy to over hire. Make sure you have a healthy ratio of gross profit to overhead. Would love to know what ratio you consider healthy. I think anything better than one to three is good.

It is easy to focus on the negatives and self-doubt. Am I giving it my all? Am I doing the right thing? Am I doing what I can to support those around me? Am I overwhelmed? Why can't I just be whelmed?? But today, I am going to focus on my team and how resilient, creative, patient, and dedicated they are. Anyone in long-term care knows that acquisitions are, simply put, tough. Changing policies, reprogramming your mind, being a cheerleader for the team, revamping culture, forgetting left from right and right from left, and countless other thoughts, feelings, and systems come your way. The past six months with Arrow Senior Living have taught me much about myself, but it is my team at Town and Country Senior Living that has made all the difference. They took on the challenge of change and ran with it. In six months, we have done so much for our team, residents, and families that would take more than long-winded social media post to cover. I can focus on the if's, how's, and what about's, but there is something better to put my focus on. I will focus on how every day this team is able to leave knowing we did our best, we accomplished all of this, and we will achieve even more tomorrow. I cannot thank or celebrate them enough for all they do, yet alone see what we do in the next six months. Happy six months Town and Country Senior Living!

From the petri dish nodding to their biomedical expertise, to the sights of Tooting beloved by their students, we weaved the 4 core tenets of their culture into the visual fabric of the institution. The infographic, interactive version, and 90 second trailer are now being used to embed SGUL’s research culture vision university wide.
