Director of Digital Forensics & eDiscovery ♦️ Adjunct Professor & Nationwide Instructor ♦️ Expert in Digital Evidence & Cellular Location Records Analysis
I review A LOT of police reports from all over the country. More specifically, I review a lot of historical cell site location information (CSLI) analysis reports. I find it curious that every time I receive a report generated using ZetX/Trax, the "blob" is always the same shape, and frequently the same size. See my examples below. These are from three different cases, multiple phones, and multiple networks, yet the RF blob always stays the same shape, and miraculously, covers multiple areas of interest in the investigation. (Redactions made where appropriate) Why do you use ZetX/Trax? This data isn't in the records. In fact, we don't really know where it *actually* comes from. I find it curious that every cell site sector in every report I review has the same shape "blob" indicated RF coverage. Maybe agencies don't know that this is the same all over the country because they're only working local cases, but perhaps some more inspection on a wider scale is warranted before purchasing a tool like this. Full disclosure: I have taught for a direct competitor of ZetX for years and am a big proponent of the competitor’s tool (CellHawk by LeadsOnline )… Mainly because it doesn't create data out of whole cloth! #dfir #digitalforensics #litigationsupport #criminaljustice #locationdata

Day 45 of #gfg #potd It is a universal fact that Geekina hates 1s however it is also known that Geekina loves the integers having atmost k 1s (set-bits) in their binary representation. Geekina demanded nth such non-negative number from Geek, and being a good friend of Geek, now it's your responsibility to tell him that number. Note: The test cases are generated such that the answer always exists and will fit in the 64-bit data type.
