This article made me go - wait ... what!!! "Such vulnerabilities can be prevented by second generation autonomous cloud computer systems". And wait, what are these second generation autonomous cloud computer systems ... just Google that and see what vendor pops up 😅! So essentially, by handing over cybersecurity to these cloud systems, we can rest in peace knowing that attackers can never get through? "Just as fully self-driving autonomous cars will improve passenger safety and save lives, autonomous computer systems are our best defense against cyberattacks on our healthcare infrastructure". All it takes is to breach the software that is underpinning these autonomous cars and now you can have not a single driver error causing an issue but a large swath of cars being impacted by an intrusion!!! Yes this is an "opinion" article, and yet it doesn't pass the smell test for me at least. By poisoning the LLM or hyper targeting the autonomous cloud infrastructure, the impact could be huge. I don't have the magic answer but am hoping some of my CISO buddies do so tagging a few of them here ... Just leaving it to the "second generation autonomous cloud systems" isn't the answer IMO!!
