Each status has it’s own set of unique mandates to qualify and have a salary minimum associated with those exemption statuses. This is your reminder that Nevada has Pay Transparency laws and that means all employers MUST disclose salary. Unlike California where the pay range MUST be disclosed in the job posting, Nevada must disclose the salary or pay range after the first interview is complete. Employers also must make salary or salary range available to internal hires, transfers, and promotions as well. If you are an employer (with at least 15 employees) who offers remote work, and there’s a potential of a candidate being in CO, CA, or WA, you must adhere to the laws of minimum and maximum salary ranges and benefits in the job posting or advertisement. Other states with PTLs include Connecticut, Rhode Island, and Maryland. Some cities and counties also have separate laws for pay transparency including Toledo, Ithica, New York City, Cincinnati, Jersey City, and Westchester Couny (NY). Make sure your HR team, hiring managers, recruiters, and job posters know the laws and are staying up to date as more courts vote for pay transparency laws in the coming months. 🏛️ #salary #paytransparency #jobposting #justputthepayrange.
