Did you catch my boss on Brian Lehrer this morning? He talked about how we've approached the NY HEAT Act, a bill with a majority cosponsorship in the Assembly that is still not moving: "Part of what we're trying to say is, as an elected representative, your job is not to put your name on the bill, your job is to pass the bill. That's what we're looking for in these final days of session and what I encourage folks who are asking, like the caller from Peekskill, "What can we do? What should we do?" I would say, "Take it that one step further. Contact your member of the State Assembly." You can look that up on the State Assembly website in New York. Contact your member of the State Assembly. When they try to tell you, "We support the bill," say, "But when are you going to pass the bill? Because that's when I'll stop."
