These recipients include categories such as 𝐹𝑎𝑘𝑖𝑟, 𝑀𝑖𝑠𝑘𝑖𝑛, 𝑀𝑢𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑎𝑓, 𝑅𝑖𝑞𝑎𝑏, 𝐺ℎ𝑎𝑟𝑖𝑚, 𝐹𝑖𝑠𝑎𝑏𝑖𝑙𝑙𝑖𝑙𝑙𝑎ℎ and 𝐼𝑏𝑛𝑢 𝑆𝑎𝑏𝑖𝑙, as well as various organisations throughout the state of Selangor. In our quest of sustainability, we have started to implement our ESG framework and roadmap, with environmental efforts encompassing carbon, water and waste management across LZS. Part of my role at work is to facilitate PLUS Malaysia’s sustainability advocacy program. As the Nation’s biggest highway operator, we play a critical role to accelerate the adoption of sustainable practices nationwide, especially due to our extensive operational footprint and societal reach across Peninsula Malaysia. Here’s one of the recent workshops organized by INTAN, which we were invited to. It was conducted as part of a structured development program for senior state government officials. I know some of you might have guessed that it was a typical ESG sharing but as someone who was part of the content development for the session, I can vouch that it was far from ordinary. We integrated corporate governance (taking guidance from MCCG) with ESG best practices, giving focus on how to implement sustainability by embedding it deep within the CG of organizations. When it starts from the top, ESG can (and should be) a strategic element that drives an organization forward. Per usual, the session had our best delivering the top tips and tricks. This is none other than our Head of Governance, Integrity and Sustainability (Yakhsha Shahril) & our very own Chief Risk & Governance Officer (Satpal Singh Dhillon).

Since 2006, Mekong Capital has incorporated environmental and social sustainability principles into our investment procedures.
