Bata Boot Recycling Initiative: Breathing New Life into Worn-Out Boots Tasman Tanning has embarked on an exciting venture with Bata to rejuvenate worn-out black gumboots. As these boots reach the end of their lifespan, our team members are encouraged to clean them, remove the inner sole, and deposit them in designated bins. These boots are then sent back to Bata, where they are repurposed into new footwear. Some of our staff, however, have found another sustainable use for their old boots, opting to take them home for tasks like lawn mowing. The project has now entered its second phase, with three of our employees currently testing the recycled boots. Initial feedback suggests these boots are softer and offer enhanced comfort compared to the original versions. The ultimate goal is to gradually replace the conventional black gumboots with these recycled alternatives. An added advantage?
