I recently completed a challenging yet fulfilling project focused on analyzing 2015 flight delays and cancellations. It involved collecting, cleaning, and analyzing a dataset of over 5 million flights to and from the USA. Out of these, more than 36% experienced delays and over 89,000 were cancelled. Dive deeper into the reasons behind flight cancellations and more key metrics in the video below. Tools used: Power BI, Power Query Skills applied: Data Analysis, Data Cleaning, ETL, Data Visualization, Statistical Analysis Key Metrics: - Total number of flights: 5+million - Total number of flight delays: 1+million - Percentage of flights delayed: 36.5% - Average delay time: 9.37 minutes - Total number of canceled flights: 89,884 This exciting project was made possible by Quantum Analytics NG during my internship. Here is another one of my recent analyses as a Data Analyst Intern with Quantum Analytics NG Project Title: NYC Green Taxi Analysis (Project No. 12) Data Source: Quantum Analytics NG The dataset contains over 20 million green taxi trips spanning 2 years. An intensive data cleanup and wrangling was done to provide actionable insights for the taxi business. Based on the business requirements, I was able to answer the following business questions from the analysis: 1. What is the average weekly trip expectancy? 2. What is the fare price per trip? 3. Average distance travelled per trip? 4. How will the weekly volume change with respect to the previous week? 5. What are the busiest days and times? 6. What are the most popular pick-up and drop-off Locations? Findings: 1️⃣ Technology Category Insights:   - Despite representing only 18.48% of sales, the Technology category stands out with the highest profit – an impressive $145,454.95. Unlocking its full potential could significantly boost overall profitability. 2️⃣ Strategic Shipment Focus:   - Shipments to California and New York proved to be the most profitable, raking in $76,381.39 and $74,038.55, respectively. Targeting marketing and supply chain efforts in these regions could further amplify success. 3️⃣ Shipping Preferences:   - Standard class shipping is the go-to choice for 59.7% of customers. Exploring alternatives by removing same-day delivery and promoting other options, especially first class, could diversify preferences and lead to increased profits. Conclusion: 🔍 This analysis unveils valuable insights into sales and profit distribution, offering a roadmap for strategic improvements. While the Technology category may not dominate in sales percentage, its exceptional profitability signals untapped potential. 🎯 Focusing efforts on maximizing the Technology category, strategically targeting high-profit regions, and diversifying shipping options can propel the business to new heights.
