The COSL Drilling Europe AS SemiSub Innovator is heading for the UK sector for Serica Energy plc Previously the unit was confirmed for Norwegian continental shelf work with Equinor with the COSLPromoter, both contracts firmed up at $369MM The Innovator was or still is sighted as having a start date in the second quarter 2025, the Promoter is currently contracted to Equinor. Equinor stated: Mette H. Ottøy, chief procurement officer, and Erik G. Kirkemo. “We plan to drill many production and exploration wells in the years to come. We are pleased to secure rig capacity which will enable us to deliver on our high ambitions. We signed a master frame agreement with COSL some years ago, and these contracts underline our commitment to continue working together creating value on the Norwegian continental shelf”, says Mette H. Ottøy, chief procurement officer. @TotalEnergies and its partner @Petrobras have kicked off 2024 in style. Our latest FPSO, Mero2, started production on January 1st, using innovative #technology to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Mero is a hydrocarbon field located on the Libra block, part of the deep #offshore pre-salt region in #Brazil. Using pioneering technology, this pilot unit will separate oil from CO2-rich gas at the bottom of the ocean, enabling the gas to be reinjected directly into the reservoir.  This new offshore asset reduces the volume of gas sent to the surface, thereby reducing the intensity of greenhouse gas emissions and also increasing the field production capacity. It’s a very concrete illustration of our "More energy, less emissions" strategy.  In addition to the immediate benefits for operations in #Brazil, this new technology should find applications for other projects across #TotalEnergies.

Norwegian company OKEA ASA has submitted a plan for developing the Bestla oil and gas field in the North Sea. The project, tied to an existing platform, follows a recent final investment decision. With estimated reserves of 24 million barrels of oil equivalent, Bestla's development is set to extend the operational lifespan of the Brage field. Anticipated production begins in 2027, targeting 26,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day. Longboat Energy PLC (AIM:LBE) has expanded its offshore footprint, picking up acreage in Norway’s 2023 licensing round. It was granted a 20% interest in Licence PL 1212 S, which hosts the Magnolia prospect, located in an area that’s been a focus for Longboat since 2021 – with the Kveikje discovery nearby. This new licence award comes in partnership with Equinor Energy and DNO Norge. Under the licence terms, the partners will be required to acquire and process modern 3D seismic along with and geological and geophysical studies within the first year. "We are pleased to have been awarded this additional licence, which will add to our core area around Kveikje, where Longboat has already discovered significant volumes and will be drilling the carried exploration well on Kjøttkake/Lotus later this year,” chief executive Helge Hammer said in a statement. The subsea field linked to Brage aims to unlock estimated reserves of 24 mmboe oil and gas, with a four-year projected production period and potential for extension.   Here are the facts about Bestla:   💰 Total investments, including subsea facilities, pipelines, Brage modifications, and production drilling, are estimated at 6.3 billion NOK. 👉 Around 70% of these investments benefit Norwegian suppliers, fostering local economic growth and creating nearly 2100 job opportunities, primarily during development. ⏳ Production will commence from two wells in the first half of 2027.
