What's the one word you'd never expect to hear in the same sentence as a career fair? "Magical." That's the word teachers used to describe their experience at our first SD308 Open Interview Night. They left with smiles on their faces, saying things like "it was fun," "everyone was so nice," and "principals gave me feedback." It was a joy to see them laughing, talking, and sharing - words we don't often hear in discussions about public education. Our investment in student teachers paid off in a big way. They shined with the extra support from our new program, Aspiring Teachers Academy. Thank you to the efforts of my partners in crime Sarah Lau (really the brains behind it all) and Bryan Zwemke as well as the SD308 Principals, TOSAs, and Human Resource Department. And a special shoutout to our guest interviewer, SD308s Superintendent, Andalib Khelghati. We're proud to have created an environment that's both supportive and magical for teachers and student teachers #SD308proud #bettertogether #interviewparty

Magical is a great word for what I experienced as I stepped in and saw excited teachers, dedicated school and district staff taking part at today's interviewing event.
