Tina Caul provides a great analysis of what real estate taught her about evaluating her own self-worth. She uses her experience in real estate to draw differences on how we value our homes as opposed to ourselves. In real estate, a buyer sets the value of your home. They usually depend on a market analysis to compare your home to other similar properties to come up with what they perceive to be the value of your home. Statistics show that most home-owners over value their property. The homeowner has personal memories and attachment to the property that they value which can inflate their own perception of the property. Interestly, the same people often deflate the value of themselves and their self-worth. They evaluate and see their own strengths and flaws and assess a value to themselves.
