Unlocking Creativity There is nothing quite like the rehearsal space—a truly fabricated world where people meld in unison with their imagination, creating alternate universes. The magic of a rehearsal space often lies in its freedom and the room for creativity. One can step into this space, leaving everything behind, and feel safe to express their truest inner emotions and ideas. The power of such a space can be constructed anywhere and is not bound to the confines of a theatre. Creating rehearsal spaces in the office can elevate brainstorming to the next level. In order to maintain originality, it is essential to allow ourselves to play, to experiment, and to explore. It is in the happy accidents where the most wondrous ideas sometimes hide. This stunning choreography from the stage rehearsals of Bab(b)el at the Ballett Theater Trier in Germany is a prime example of artists, space, and objects coming together to form an entire world and language through movement. Performing art can reflect the values, beliefs, traditions, and identities of the people who create and perform it. Performing art can also challenge, critique, or transform the social norms and expectations of a society. Performing art can be a powerful tool for education, communication, entertainment, and social change.
