Please join us in welcoming Zoe Findlay into the Volunteer Coordinator role at OutLine Aotearoa! Zoe first joined the OutLine whānau in 2023 as our Fundraising and Finance Coordinator. With their strong interest in community work and rainbow mental health, they were a natural fit to move into the Volunteer Coordinator role when it became available this year. As Volunteer Coordinator, Zoe is responsible for training and providing ongoing supervision and support to our amazing phone and chat support service volunteers. Zoe is a nonbinary person with a background in outdoor education, youth development, advocacy and management. They have lived in Taupō and Tāmaki Makaurau, and currently live in Ōtautahi. In their spare time, Zoe is active, mostly mountain biking and running. At OutLine Aotearoa, we’re committed to celebrating queer excellence and uplifting Rainbow, Takatāpui and MVPFAFF+ voices. That’s why we thrilled to announce that Jenn Tamati has been appointed as our new Operations Manager – a role that will be vital as we undertake changes to the way we uphold our values and deliver support services to our communities. Jenn joined OutLine in 2021 as our first fulltime Volunteer Coordinator. In that role, Jenn was pivotal in bringing volunteer training in-house, as well as strengthening our processes and volunteer supervision. As Operations Manager, Jenn brings a compassionate approach to supporting our kaimahi and the day-to-day running of OutLine. Her attention to detail, passion for statistics, and people-centred leadership will be invaluable as OutLine goes through its current period of significant growth and change. Jenn (Ngāti Tūwharetoa, Ngāpuhi-Nui-Tonu, Ngāti Pikiao, Ngāti Mākino o Te Arawa) has a long history of volunteer work, and pursued studies in Psychology and Politics. They live in Tāmaki Makaurau and have previously lived in Poland, Germany and Ireland. When not in the OutLine offices, catch Jenn sipping coffees on Karangahape Road or selecting tunes on the airwaves of 95bFM. Please join us in congratulating Jenn on the well-deserved promotion and wishing her all the best in her new role!

Yesterday was the end of an era for OutLine Aotearoa, as we said haere rā to our contract counselling team. OutLine has been providing Rainbow specialist counselling services to our communities for the better part of a decade. However, we recently decided to put this service on hold while we work on bringing counselling in-house as a core service. OutLine’s contract counselling service was established by Hayden Oswin, who remained a pillar of the service to its end. We thank Hayden for his years of service and wish him all the best. We’d also like to say a huge thank you and haere rā to the rest of the contract counselling team – Tommy Hamilton, Jacqui Ivankovich, Tabby Besley, Olivia Campbell and Vicky Clothier. OutLine is excited to be bringing our Rainbow specialist counselling service in-house, and we look forward to sharing updates as we get the new service up and running. We appreciate the pause in service may be difficult for our communities, and we thank you for your patience.
