Happy Humpday! I'm bringing back this viral throwback Geico commercial to remind you that we need to be able to adapt & evolve with the times. Just like Camels & Geckos being able to evolve to speak on TV or sell you insurance, we need to be able to evolve or adapt to environments, situations, relationships, and more. Same goes for your advertising/marketing plan. I knew you knew that was coming 😉 But seriously, adaptability is needed for your advertising plan. You must be ready to pivot or evolve with the changing landscapes of consumer habits, spending, and the industry you're working in. What worked yesterday, might not work today. Today I cancelled my policy with GEICO after a decade of loyalty. It's important to remember that one of the most crucial lessons of running a business is to keep your current customers happy. Unfortunately, GEICO seemed to forget this. Despite paying on time and having a clean driving record for years, they continued to increase my rates. The most recent increase was almost 30%, with the reason being "everyone is getting a rate increase." I decided to shop around and found quotes significantly less than what I had been paying with GEICO. When I returned to GEICO with these quotes, they said they couldn't match them and that my rates would likely increase with the new company after 6 months. As a loyal customer of 10 years, this wasn't a good enough reason to stay. It's a shame to walk away from a company I've been with for so long, but I refuse to put my money into an organization that doesn't value their current customers. Whether it is where we conduct business or who we work for, I urge everyone to look around for quotes and walkaway when they aren't appreciated and valued. #customerfocused #whygeico #valueyourpeople #knowyourvalue

Entering into one of my most exciting Fridays in a while: 9:00-9:15: Check in with Manufacturing Prospect on status of renewal 11:00-12:30: Claims Review with Distribution Client 1:00-1:30: Renewal Proposals with new Importer Client 2:00-2:30: Auto Physical Damage Proposal with Mobile Delivery Client 3:00-3:30: Restaurant Client Renewal Proposal Meeting Five different meetings with five different industries, all with complex and diverse needs. Some meetings done remotely, some done in person. And on the whole, all the news is positive. There are stereotypes around insurance brokers and their meticulous Friday schedules (see: golf). But the market is hardening, policies are being non-renewed, and there's plenty of risk to be managed. Let's get to work.
