Hi Giulia Chierchia — it’s too bad you are not living what you are preaching. Or, as they say in Texas, you’re all hat and no cattle. “Inspiring inclusion is hugely important to me – it can bring a sense of belonging, relevance, and empowerment. Everyone deserves to feel that they can speak up, that their voice gets heard and that they matter.” — I hope you see the irony in your restricting the comments on your post; it limits people’s ability for their voices to be heard and results in just the opposite of what you claim to promote. And saying that you are “proud to say that my leadership team at bp this year has made creating an inclusive culture one of our top priorities” and that you “believe setting tone from the top in this space will continue to be ever more important” is not supported by reality, either, is it? Tell me how your so-called inclusion applies to bp’s UK pensioners, whose pensions have been devalued by 17% over the last few years because the company is not living up to the commitments it made to their employees for the last four decades or more. Tell me how ignoring and marginalizing them is a shining example for inclusion. Explain how a scripted “information session” that twisted facts and figures and did not even attempt to answer questions submitted by over 1,400 pensioners showed that their voices were heard. And give me one rational explanation why bp are forbidding their current employees from bringing up and discussing the pensions situation — aside from the fact that it would embarrass management as they go through their mental gyrations trying to justify their decisions and actions without losing even more face. And finally, tell me, why don’t you speak up for the pensioners in line with bp’s Code of Conduct? Silence is complicity. Unless of course you feel that you cannot speak up and make your voice heard. In which case maybe you should ask yourself some uncomfortable questions. #BPpensions

At Avaloq, our honouring of International Women's Day extended well beyond a single day this year; it spanned an entire week!  This year's festivities have unquestionably set a new standard for celebrating and drawing inspiration from IWD. The range of activities was diverse, catering to a multitude of interests – from networking opportunities and combating bias to engaging in Confident Body Language taster sessions, listening to roundtable discussions, and absorbing motivational talks. Every individual had the chance to connect with a topic that resonated with them, providing opportunities to actively contribute and collectively make progress for themselves and others. As we wrap up a meaningful week, it prompts me to humbly reflect on the theme of this year's IWD, "Accelerating Progress," and evaluate our position as an organization. Since 2019, when we formally committed to fostering Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion at Avaloq, we have indeed seen some progress. Back then, we set concrete objectives for enhancing female representation within the company. It's heartening to share that by 2023, we've managed to surpass our 2025 goal of achieving over 30% female representation. We are committed to maintaining this momentum by carefully monitoring our hiring practices and attrition patterns for sustained progress. Our focus extends beyond the numbers, with an objective examination of the fairness and equity in our people processes. This includes an evaluation of promotions, salary adjustments, benefits, and an overall reflection on our journey toward creating an inclusive employee experience for everyone, irrespective of gender. However, despite these efforts, we recognize that there's still much work to be done. While we've advanced in terms of women's representation in leadership, we acknowledge that we're still a considerable distance from the 2019 goal of doubling the number of women in senior positions. Moreover, we're committed to broadening our perspective by considering gender in a non-binary way and exploring diversity across various dimensions. A heartfelt thank you goes out to my team and the passionate volunteers who played a crucial role in orchestrating the week's celebrations. Let's maintain the momentum together. Although the road ahead is long as we continue our journey, I'm humbled and genuinely excited about the opportunities that lie ahead. Inspire Inclusion. That’s the International Women's Day 2024 Women’s Day 2024 theme, and it aims to inspire everyone to value women’s inclusion. So, how do we embrace this notion at Sledge? 📣 Employee ownership – Being an Employee Owned Trust (EOT) means that the very fabric of our agency provides each and every team member with a voice. 💬 CASC meetings – These are directly linked, and bring employees of all genders from across our Group together to discuss and shape its future. 💡 Recruitment & personal development – First and foremost, we hire and select people for projects based on their skills, talent, passion, and suitability for the job at hand. 📖 Education – The agency provides all team members with the tools and resources to attend events and experiences that enhance their learnings on topics ranging from inclusion and event production, through to AI and CSR. As we wrap up our week of stories and insights from women and allies across #TeamLigentia, we’re catching up with Group CEO Daniel Gill to get his thoughts on inspiring inclusion. Happy International Women’s Day!    Today is an important day and one I take pride in celebrating. Today we – collectively across the world – focus on recognizing women’s achievements. This year’s #IWD theme is to #InspireInclusion.    To inspire inclusion, we must lead dynamically. We must be flexible. Nourish our people while also driving results. Create calm in a frenetic landscape of change. As a woman in a leadership role during COVID, I watched the traditional workplace turn on its head. In the last year, the warp speed impact of AI is revolutionizing everything around us. Every day, we face new challenges in unchartered waters. To be successful, we must be nimble and look at what will transform our worlds. We need to find a way towards profitable growth when historic data may no longer be relevant.   And, while doing so, we need to find a way to offer curiosity and kindness in a world that encourages us not to be. Why? Because curiosity is where progress happens. Asking questions to seek understanding – not to debate or judge – creates new pathways for innovation, culture, and prosperity. Providing feedback that’s constructive and honest. Creating psychological safety for a team to speak freely – and making space for dissenting views so colleagues can bring their authentic selves to work. Celebrating wins while checking in during struggles. Paying it forward by embracing and empowering career paths of those who will come after us.    When we lead dynamically, we inspire inclusion. It’s International women’s day today and as a woman I am excited about how this day reminds us of many victories won by women before us for our sake.  My Ceo Damilola Olokesusi always reminds us of the need to be a valuable asset wherever you find yourself; personally these are some of the key ways I believe women can be valuable contributors in their profession. Be Results-oriented: Consistently hitting and exceeding your goals and KPIs Be an expertise in your chosen field: Become a master of whatever you have chosen to do.  Have a strong and positive work ethic Be Reliable: Be someone your team and other people can depend on Show up on time, meet deadlines, and follow through on commitments. Be Proactive: Don't wait to be told what to do Have a Positive attitude: A positive and enthusiastic approach is contagious. It motivates your team, fosters good client relationships, and creates a more productive work environment. Continuous learning: The market is constantly evolving. Stay ahead of the curve by taking courses, attending industry events and keeping up with the latest trends Coaching and mentoring: Invest in your growth. Provide coaching and mentorship to your team members to help them achieve their goals Adaptability: Be flexible and willing to adapt to changing market conditions. Excellent communication skills: Being able to clearly and concisely communicate with people. Transparency: Be upfront and honest with all your stakeholders.
